ensure coverage of all of desiredata's code using unit-tests. those unit-tests don't need to be able to run on vanilla at this point. unit-tests can rely on "rules" (preconditions and postconditions). there are enough unit-tests when coverage tools tells us that there are enough.

this will make desiredata usable as a replacement of puredata most of the time. slowness will be tolerated unless ridiculous. this shouldn't include any new features. bugs that we can tolerate (small annoyances) don't go in this category.

this milestone's main goal is to improve the speed of the GUI. as an aside, all new bugs are allowed in from the moment that milestone 2 gets completed.

so far, anything that doesn't fit into milestones 1,2,3, until this set gets split into real milestones.
